Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year at Henderson Elementary!

We hope your family has enjoyed a wonderful summer and is excited for the new school year. Below is some important back-to-school information. For additional details, please refer to Mrs. Schott's Welcome Back Letter that was sent via email last week.

Important dates

August 10 - Back to School Packet will be available in ParentVUE.
August 14 - Bus schedule will be available in ParentVUE. For more information about the bus tracking app, please click on the EZArrival flyer.
August 17/18 - Student teacher assignments will be available in ParentVUE.
August 20 - Open House
August 24 - First day of School - School hours are 9:20 am - 4:00 pm
September 28, 29 and 30 - Back to School Nights

Open House and Meet Your Teacher (Thursday, August 20)

  • 9:00 - 9:30 am - Preschool Orientation
  • 9:30 - 10:30 am - Kindergarten Orientation
  • 11:00 - 11:30 am - New Student Orientation 
  • 1:00 - 1:45 pm - Families with last names beginning with A – H (Open House)
  • 2:00 - 2:45 pm - Families with last names beginning with I - R (Open House)
  • 3:00 - 3:45 pm - Families with last names beginning with S - Z (Open House)
  • Children who have different last names may select their preferred time.

Back To School Nights

September 28th (Pre-K & 1st grade)
5:30 - 6:15 p.m. - Session 1 or 
6:30 - 7:15 p.m. - Session 2

September 29th (2nd & 3rd grades)
5:30 - 6:15 p.m. - Session 1 or
6:30 - 7:15 p.m. - Session 2

Immunization requirement & School Physical Form

The deadline for students to meet the school physical and/or immunization requirement for public school enrollment is Friday, August 21, 2026. If you have questions, please contact the school nurse, or visit the PWCS Health Requirements webpage.

Medications at school and health treatment plan for 2026-2027

Please have all health treatment plans, medication administration forms, and brand-new, unopened medication for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year signed and ready to be handed in beginning August 17, 2026. Please refer to the PWCS Student Health Services website.

Important Guidelines

  • School personnel cannot administer any medication until a form, signed by the parent/guardian is on file in the clinic of the school. All prescription medication must also have a physician's signature on the form.
  • Any medication, prescription, and over-the-counter must be provided in a new, sealed container with the completed authorization form.
  • An adult needs to bring to the clinic any and all medication. No medication is to be sent to school with the student.
