Session 1 -School Intervention, Referral, Evaluation, and Eligibility
Tuesday, September 21 

Participants will learn about the school intervention process, how a student is referred for a comprehensive special education evaluation, the evaluation process, and how special education laws find a student with a disability eligible to receive special education services.

Session 2 - Parents as Partners in the IEP Process
Wednesday, September 22 

Participants will learn the components of the IEP document and how to be an active participant in the IEP Process.

Session 3 - Parental Rights in Dispute Resolution
Tuesday, September 28 

Participants will learn the "appropriate chain of command" when addressing concerns regarding your child’s special education services, also understanding the options for dispute resolution available to parents and schools, which include central office review, state mediation, and due process hearing.
