Non-Edible Birthday Treats are Requested
We love to recognize students on their birthdays. If your child has a summer birthday, we also welcome you to coordinate with your child's teacher a day during the school year to celebrate your child's birthday. Students' names are announced in the morning announcements on their birthday or on the Friday before a weekend birthday. We also provide students with a small gift from our school administration in the front office.
When sending in a birthday treat, always first coordinate with your child's teacher before your child's birthday. We welcome pre-packaged goody bags that can be sent home with students at the end of the school day. Non-edible birthday treats are preferred due to the high number of students with life-threatening food allergies. Additionally, please do not send balloons or plan for individual birthday parties during the school day.
Below is a list of ideas for non-edible birthday treats:
- bookmark
- sticker
- pencil
- eraser
- bracelet
- bubbles
- play dough
- glow sticks
- paper airplane
- crayons
- sidewalk chalk
- sticky notes
- seed packets
- puzzles
- keychains
- stencils
- stampers
- donate a game, puzzle, or book to the classroom in your child's name
Birthday invitations are never distributed at school unless each student in the class is receiving one. If parents live in separate households, please ensure you check with the other child's parent to ensure they are comfortable with a class-wide invitation.
